DURANGO KID is a 5 year old gelding standing at 17hh. He is a proper old-fashioned chasing type.

By popular sire Diamond Boy and from a family full of winners on his dam’s side with a strong French pedigree.

He has only had 3 educational runs in Irish maiden point-to-points, and all of these runs were in May 2025. From these runs, he improved with each one and was a creditable 3rd on his third start. He gained valuable experience, and there is a good foundation to build on moving forward.

Being such a big horse, he has needed time to mature and fill into his frame and is seen very much as a horse that will continue to improve with age, as these types often do. He is still a big baby and is not the finished article, but there is plenty of potential, and he has the makings of a real quality horse that will give connections lots of fun.

He is a very good jumper and has bags of stamina, and we see him as a staying chaser in the making.

He is 100% sound and clean with no injuries, vices or health issues and has recently passed a full 5-stage vetting.

He has been with us for about 3 months now, and we have given him some time out at grass and concentrated on building up his condition. He is now really starting to blossom and is ready to start cantering.

He would start over hurdles to gain further experience and to get his handicap mark, then in time he would go over fences where we feel he will be seen to best effect.
